Your Initial Consultation

Your first visit to Lorton & Springfield Dental Implant and Oral Surgery is an important opportunity for us to get to know each other. During this initial consultation, Dr. Sneha Patel or Dr. Michael Jungwirth will discuss your dental health, provide a thorough diagnosis, and explain your treatment options. In some cases, if your treatment is straightforward and your medical history uncomplicated, we may be able to perform surgery on the same day. However, patients with complex medical histories or detailed treatment plans will likely require a comprehensive evaluation followed by a second appointment for treatment.

What to Bring to Your Consultation:

  • Your surgical referral slip and any relevant x-rays if available.

  • A list of medications you are currently taking.

  • If you have medical or dental insurance, bring the necessary completed forms to facilitate claim processing.

Important Information for All Patients:

  • Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.

  • A preoperative consultation and physical examination are required for patients undergoing IV anesthesia. Please do not eat or drink anything for eight hours prior to your surgery. You must also arrange for an adult to drive you home afterward.

Health Alerts:

  • Please inform us if you have any medical conditions that may be of concern before surgery (e.g., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever) or if you are on any medications (e.g., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy).

X-Rays:

  • If your dentist or physician has taken x-rays, you can have them forwarded to our office. If there is insufficient time to do so, please collect them and bring them with you. If additional X-rays are needed, they can be taken at our facility.

At Lorton & Springfield Dental Implant and Oral Surgery, we are dedicated to providing you with a seamless and supportive experience from your first visit. Our team is here to ensure your comfort and safety while delivering the highest standard of personalized dental care.
