Dr. Patel is both a dentist and a physician, completing both his dental and medical degrees at Columbia University. He finished his residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. During his training, he participated with Healing the Children in the countries of Colombia and Ecuador treating children with cleft lips and palates. Dr. Patel was also part of one of the first teams involved in CT guided dental implant placement at Columbia University. Dr. Patel was born and raised in Philadelphia and went to Boston University for college. Dr. Patel and his wife enjoy spending time together and enjoy traveling.

He trained in full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including implants, dentoalveolar, pathology, cosmetics, trauma, and TMJ surgery.

Dr. Jungwirth is excited to serve Northern Virginia at Lorton, Springfield & Mt Vernon Dental Implant and Oral Surgery. In his spare time, he enjoys hanging out with his family and friends, hiking, skiing and travelling.

Dr. Michael Jungwirth was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and grew up in Keene, New Hampshire. He graduated first in his class at the University of Tennessee with a degree in neuroscience and associate research. During his undergraduate studies Dr. Jungwirth pursued his passion for the advancement of medical science by performing molecular and cellular biology research and publishing two manuscripts. He was also awarded a Goldwater Scholarship, a C.W. Fite Fellowship for Outstanding Professional Promise, and the William Harris III Undergraduate Research Award.

From there he attended the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he continued his passion for research and patient care. He received the Harvard Odontological Society Award for Excellence in Research, the Dr. Paul E. Boyle Award For Excellence in the Field of Oral Pathology, and several grants for his research on non-endothelial origin of midpalatal suture osteoblasts. Throughout his time at Harvard Dental School, Dr. Jungwirth made sure to give back to the community by serving as the treasurer for Operation Mouth Guard, an organization that provided mouth guards for underprivileged athletes. He also co-founded the Harvard School of Dental Medicine Introduction to Dentistry Course in order to inspire and guide the next generation of dental professionals.

Following his dental medicine training, Dr. Jungwirth pursued his love of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery by completing an internship and residency at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, a program known across the country for its superb clinical training. He was honored to serve patients of all racial, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds and make a difference in the community. He had the opportunity to serve as Chief Resident at University Hospital while training in Newark, New Jersey…

Kassie
Director of Operations

Kassie joined the team with Lorton Springfield Oral Surgery in 2016 as a patient care coordinator. She has since held various titles within the practice such as implant treatment coordinator, office manager, and practice manager. She has over 10 years of experience working in the Oral Surgery field, and over 16 years of experience in the medical field overall.

In her current role, she oversees the clinical and administrative functions of our three office locations to ensure our staff and our patients have the best experience at each of our practice locations. Kassie also works closely with the doctors to ensure our practice is consistently improving to provide the best care to our patients. To further improve her knowledge in the healthcare field, Kassie attended Liberty University with a focus in Healthcare Administration. 

In her free time, Kassie has her own business as a photographer in the Northern Virginia Region. She also enjoys spending time and traveling with her Husband and daughter.

Jennifer
Clinical Manager

Jennifer has worked with the practice since 2014. She began her career in Oral Surgery in 1993 and has since worked in many areas within oral surgery including surgical assistant, implant coordinator, and patient care coordinator.

Her previous experience throughout the different positions in oral surgery has benefited the practice by helping to ensure patient advancement while providing the highest standard of care.

Jennifer is responsible for establishing and maintaining an open and caring working relationship between Dr. Patel and your dentist. She also oversees the clinical department of all three of our office locations to ensure they are practicing the best care for our patients as well as staying current with the latest education to keep our team up to speed. In her free time, Jen enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Implant Treatment Coordinator

Jessica
Front Desk Manager

Jessica joined the practice in 2020 as a front desk coordinator. Over the years, Jessica has learned many aspects of the job, and is currently training to move into the office manager role for our Mount Vernon office location. She also serves as the implant coordinator in the mount vernon location. Jessica is the main point of contact at this location for our patients who are seeking tooth replacement options.

In her free time, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family. 

Preslie
Implant Treatment Coordinator

Preslie started with our practice in 2020 as a front desk coordinator. Preslie has been a wonderful asset to our team and great advocate for our patients. She has grown into the Implant Treatment Coordinator position and is the main liaison between the patient and the doctor for their implant treatment needs. She also specializes in full mouth restoration and is the main point of contact for any current and future patients wanting a full mouth restoration.

In her free time, Preslie is an avid horse lover and enjoys spending time with her horse Ronan. She also enjoys spending time with her husband.
